- Regularly launder mops. Mops contain high soil loads of dirt, germs, etc. Heavy soil loads can inactivate disinfectants, making them ineffective and leading to cross-contamination of whatever sickness may be in a certain area to other areas being mopped. Putting your mop through a separate wash / light bleach load can eliminate the spread of sickness.
- Disinfect cleaning tools. During our cleaning and disinfecting, we often forget to clean the very tools we may use for the process: poop scoopers, the mop bucket or mop sink area, brooms, etc.
- Ensure daily cleaning of staff areas. Use disinfectants to ensure the killing of germs where people gather for meetings, especially to eat.
- Consider areas not normally cleaned as often. Front lobby areas are a concern for schools, hospitals, veterinary clinics, pet resorts, etc. The tendency is to first make the area smell nice. But it's vital to use a disinfectant deodorizer like Biocide Plus here as well. Remember, if an area has been cleaned and disinfected well, it should not smell.
